Fair Trade Social Enterprise programme for Schools and Colleges

Our award-winning Fair Trade Social Enterprise programme has been tailored for schools and colleges and can meet a number of national curriculum goals. Click here to download our brochure.

Students work with peers in groups of between 10 and 20 to run their own social enterprise. They will meet regularly to manage and plan business activities. The group will create a business plan, manage their finances, plan sales and promotional activities in the school and the wider community and business community.

Students run stalls, attend events as well as sell their fair trade products directly to businesses and organisations. Students create income for their group or the school whilst helping poor producers and contributing to a fairer world. Typically run over an academic year (but started at any time in the year), the programme provides students with a wide range of enterprise and life skills that contribute to their academic and future work prospects.

The programme is also a fantastic, innovative way to introduce Fair Trade into the school or college environment, but linked to enterprise and also supporting local people, it goes far beyond Fair Trade.
