We have been invited to attend a dragons den at the Trade to Aid Event in Bradford.It looks like a great opportuntity:

There will be a total of 4 businesses pitching to the panel.

The Purpose of the pitch is to showcase the business/ business idea. There is no competition, and no investment opportunity, however there will be feedback on the business from the panel. This is also an opportunity to present the business to an audience, and to distribute business cards and marketing material.

Perhaps most importantly, it is an opportunity to perfect the business marketing pitch and to build presenter confidence in front of an audience.

Presenters may give a marketing pack and business plan to the panel in order that feedback can be given on this too. 4 sets of any such documents should be handed to the conference organisers on registration at the conference at 9.00am on 25^th June.

The Pitch:

Each Business will have 25 minutes before the panel. This will be as follows:

10 minutes presentation – power point can be arranged – notify organisers in advance if required.

5 minutes questions from the panel

10 minutes feedback from the panel

There will be 5 minutes ‘turnaround’ time between pitches.

The main focus of the pitch is to present your business/business idea with a sales and marketing emphasis; you may wish to include details such as:            

• Some back ground and history
• How long have you been in business
• What makes your business unique
• What are your trading hours
• Where are you based
• What market sector do you serve
• How much business do you currently have – tell the panel enough about your turnover and business activity that they can see how sustainable your business is
• What are your aspirations
• Are there any barriers currently preventing you from achieving your business dream… access to funding, sourcing product, sourcing skilled staff, finding customers etc etc
• Is there any particular aspect of your presentation or business that you want the panel to give you feedback on
• You may include financial issues and projections if you wish to, but this is optional.

The pitch may be made by an individual or by a team from the business – however you feel you are able to sell your business best.
