We would be really interested to hear anyone's ideas about how groups can add value to 'Not Just a' products. The Huddersfield group did some great work last year when they took a few products and put them together and wrapped them up to make really nice Christmas gift packs. Maybe a group might want to set up a market stall selling hot tea and coffee and chocolate drinks rather than just selling boxes of tea bags and coffee? Let us know your ideas. We can then turn the best ones into good practice tips for other groups. You never know, we might even find the idea for some new products to add to the range.

We did some events last Christmas and we had some chocoloate left and some sweets from our chocolate fountain so we prepared some sticks with sweets and covered them in chocolate we then sold them for £1.80 and they sold really well. Not bad for some left over product! :).

An idea for the rice - how about doing snackpots of rice in different flavours?

That's really enterprising of you all to realise you had left over stock and to effectively create a new product on the spot and finish the day selling most of it - well done all. Quick thinking and using your imagination.

Really good idea on the rice too - it would be a good one for a market stall on a cold winter's day!

Well today we are running a sampling / tasting session for Kirklees Council, so we are cooking up the rice, brewing the coffee, making some tea and opening up the chocolate bars. We've been looking up the best rice recipes to use.

How about thinking about 'Where the Crowds Go...'?  Yes - we have longer term aims to reach festivals (that would take a lot of planning) but a great starting point is to....

Check out your local authority or local area 'events' websites.  I am thinking of places where lots of crowds will be and where a warm drink would be very welcome! (i.e. mini marathons, local pop festivals and cultural events that take place outside...)

HOW ABOUT THE DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBS?  I am thinking for example - of the massive celebration that will be happening at Galpharm Stadium. OK getting a pitch inside the Stadium may be difficult (although we now have the links with Hudds Town) but how about on the edges of the Stadium where 100s of 1000s of people will be hanging about, waiting to enter the stadium, dropping up, picking up kids, coach drivers etc....

This kind of scenario will be the same all over the country...

Mary - I love the snackpot idea. Its about time there was a healthier alternative to the Pot Noodle and one which is ETHICALLY sourced!
